Cloud APIs
Use cloud AI APIs as an alternative or complement to your local servers.
What are cloud APIs?
These are AI services from companies like OpenAI, Mistral or Groq. You pay per use (per token) and don't need your own hardware. They're a quick setup alternative or a backup for when your local servers aren't available.
Supported providers
- OpenAI — GPT-4, GPT-3.5 and more models. The most well-known with the greatest variety.
- Mistral — High-quality European models. Good value for money.
- Groq — Ultra-fast inference with open-source models. Very competitive in speed.
1 Get an API key
Sign up on your preferred provider's website and generate an API key. Each provider has a slightly different process, but all offer free or trial plans.
2 Add the API in MeigaHub
Go to the 'My APIs' section in the panel, select the provider, paste your API key and choose a model. MeigaHub will verify the key is valid before saving.
3 Configure priority
You can have multiple APIs and servers. Order them by priority or use 'Usage rules' to direct certain queries to specific providers.
When using cloud APIs, your messages are sent to the external provider for processing. If privacy is your priority, use local servers.
Intelligent routing
MeigaHub automatically combines all your providers (local and cloud) into a priority-ordered list. If one fails, it automatically moves to the next.
You can write rules in natural language like 'use for code and programming' or 'only as backup if others fail' in each API's usage description field.
